We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land where we work and live. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. We celebrate the stories, culture and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders of all communities who also work and live on this land.
A comic book web app that leads visitors through a series of playful puzzles in the Melbourne Museum’s Gandel Gondwana Garden.
Sandpit partnered with Melbourne Museum to bring the Gandel Gondwana Garden to life for young audiences.
Using a custom built web app, visitors solve five puzzles by tracking down clues located in the physical world. They meet all sorts of animals along the way including dinosaurs and megafauna, and collect the missing pages of the Groundskeeper’s handbook.
The game features beautiful original illustrations and animation from frequent Sandpit collaborator Chris Edser.
Chris and the Sandpit team collaborated with the Museum’s in-house palaeontologists to bring the game’s extinct lead characters to life in beautiful detail. Using augmented reality, Drama in Gondwana seamlessly layers the game’s fantastical world over the real world of the garden, resulting in a playful blend of story and science.
