Timescapes

Timescapes is a unique project at the WA Museum, Boola Bardip Old Gaol site.

It’s a visually rich, creative response to the objects and items of the museum archives brought to life on the architecture of the gaol walls.

A cyclical work inspired by the six seasons of the Nyoongar year, Timescapes weaves a collection of narratives inspired by deep archaeological time and traditional Aboriginal knowledge, through colonial history, right up to modern art and technology.

Bringing together a diverse creative team including Animation Director Chris Edser, Archival Consultant Sari Braithwaite and composer Orkheomai (Brendan Woithe), Timescapes is a kaleidoscopic and mesmerising look at Western Australia, exploring its complicated social and ecological past.
