Penguin Books
Dial-a-Story
THE BRIEF..........................
To create a brand activation which would engage the public in an intimate, meaningful way with Penguin's authors.

THE PROJECT..........................
Dial-A-Story is our collaboration with Penguin Group (Australia). The concept is centred on a unique, multiplatform storytelling experience featuring a real-world Penguin Phone Booth.
The interactive experience allows Penguin authors to share their own personal, intimate stories with the public – and for the public to share their own stories in return.
The specially crafted Penguin Phone Booths are placed in various locations, kicking off in Melbourne, Australia. Participants can dial one of five authors – John Safran, Jamie Durie, Graeme Base, Father Bob Maguire or Maggie Beer – and hear an intimate story from the author's own life. These are never-before-heard stories that give a unique glimpse into these five authors' lives.
Participants are invited to leave their own message. By sharing a story from their own lives, they join a growing online archive of wonderful Australian stories.
THE TECHNOLOGY..........................
Arduino, Raspberry Pi, barcode reader, custom electronics and code, companion website.
